Theme: Rapid Prototyping for Purpose-Driven Design

💡 Project Seed Ideas (Use for inspiration or choose your own)

Each team will select one of the following prompts to inspire a 3-hour proof-of-concept app.

1. Fresh Air Finder
Theme: Parks & Recreation
Design a simple app that helps users discover quiet or less-crowded green spaces nearby, using data like real-time crowd levels, ambient sound readings, and user-submitted mood tags. that helps users find quiet or less crowded green spaces nearby based on real-time crowd levels, ambient noise, and user moods.

2. Little Fixes
Theme: Common Problems
Create a hyper-simple app for quickly logging and tracking small home or office repairs (like a leaky faucet or broken chair) so that everyone knows it’s been seen and prioritized.

3. Mindful Minutes for Classrooms
Theme: K–12 EdTech
Prototype a lightweight tool for elementary teachers to run short daily emotional check-ins and breathing exercises for students, with a dashboard to track classroom mood over time.

4. Kindness Chain
Theme: Positive Social Impact
Make a micro-social app where users can record kind acts they've done or witnessed, and tag people to "pass it on." Optional local leaderboard to gamify good deeds.

5. CareSync
Theme: Simple Management App
Design a front-desk-friendly app for small healthcare practices to coordinate patient check-ins, follow-ups, and family communications, with an emphasis on reducing stress.

6. Borrowed & Back
Theme: Common Problems
Build a no-login-needed lending tracker for neighbors, friends, or classrooms. Tracks who borrowed what and when it's due back—bonus points for a friendly, playful UI.

🧹 Hackathon Rules

👥 Teams:
Each team must consist of one experienced vibe coder and one beginner. Collaboration and mentorship are the goal.

Time Limit:
You have 3 hours total:

  • 2 hours to design and build your proof-of-concept

  • 1 hour for team presentations (5–7 minutes each)

Requirements:

  • Select one prompt to build from

  • Use vibe coding principles: emotional resonance, intentional UX flow, and intuitive UI feedback

  • Present a working prototype or a clickable/high-fidelity mockup

  • Explain your design intent and how it connects to the prompt

  • What was the vibe or emotion you aimed to evoke?

  • How did your design decisions support that feeling?

  • What was your biggest insight or challenge during the build?
